At Brown’s Behavioral Consulting, we believe that effective care starts with understanding, empathy, and a commitment to long-term empowerment. The H.U.M.A.N.S Care Model is the foundation of our approach, providing a structured, research-backed framework that moves beyond traditional behavior management and fosters genuine transformation.
Rather than focusing on compliance and control, our model prioritizes emotional healing, self-regulation, and skill-building, ensuring that individuals receive personalized, dignified, and effective support.
Key Pillars of Our Approach
Humanization
We recognize the dangers of dehumanization in care settings and focus on restoring dignity, respect, and trust in every interaction. Our approach ensures that individuals are seen, heard, and valued.
Understanding Behavioral Development
Behavior is complex and shaped by multiple factors. Using the Grand Unified Theory (G.U.T.) of Human Behavior, we analyze behavior beyond surface-level reactions, identifying core emotional and psychological needs.
Mapping Emotional Landscapes
Emotions shape decision-making and behavior. Our Therapeutic Investigations approach allows us to identify and respond effectively to emotional triggers and support-seeking behaviors.
Analyzing Behavior with the A.I.M. Model
The A.I.M. Model (Action, Intention, Motivation) provides a structured approach to behavior analysis, removing bias and assumption from interventions.
Nurturing Change with the Three S’s Framework
Our intervention approach follows the Three S’s—Stabilize, Scaffold, Supersede—ensuring individuals receive structured, goal-driven support tailored to their needs.
Surpassing Support Needs
Our goal is not dependency—it’s empowerment. We provide individuals with the skills, tools, and strategies they need to thrive independently.
Why This Approach Matters
At Brown’s Behavioral Consulting, we don’t just address behaviors—we understand them, decode them, and empower individuals to transcend them. The H.U.M.A.N.S Care Model ensures that care is:
This is more than a model—it’s a movement toward a more compassionate, effective, and human-centered approach to behavioral support.
The AIM Analysis and Intervention Model is a comprehensive framework that is designed to provide a systematic approach to understanding and addressing the emotional and behavioral challenges faced by youth. It is an evidence-based model that is grounded in the principles of cognitive-behavioral therapy, trauma-informed care, and developmental psychology.
The AIM model is based on three key components: Action, Intention, and Motivation. Each of these components is explored in detail to gain a deep understanding of the youth's behavior and the factors that contribute to it.
Action: This component focuses on the observable behavior of the youth and their response to specific situations. The goal of this component is to identify the behavior that needs to be addressed and to develop strategies to stabilize the youth's behavior. For example, if a youth throws a glass against the wall, the action component would focus on the behavior of throwing the glass and any associated actions, such as yelling or physically threatening someone.
Intention: This component delves into the intentions behind the youth's behavior. The goal of this component is to identify the underlying reasons why the youth engaged in the behavior. For instance, the youth may have thrown the glass with the intention of scaring, hurting, or asserting dominance over a particular individual or group.
Motivation: This component explores the underlying emotional and psychological factors driving the youth's behavior. The goal of this component is to identify the foundational factors that contribute to the youth's behavior. For example, the youth may feel powerless and unheard at home, leading them to seek control and power in other areas of their life.
The AIM model provides a structured approach to understanding and addressing the complex emotional and behavioral challenges faced by youth. It is designed to provide the foundation in the development of targeted intervention strategies that address the root causes of the youth's behavior. Through evidence-based practices, the model helps youth learn healthy coping mechanisms, regulate their emotions, and develop positive relationships with their peers and family members.
